In the music wars its time to take it to the streets. Its time to do that beautiful thing that beautiful music can make us do, and come together. Its a time for us to get out from behind our shiny glowing boxes and give each other hugs, but not kisses.
p2p/peer-to-peer and all that jazz isn't just nibbles and bits floating from my computer to yours, its you and me, babe. And the dude down the street and that stoned guy at the pizza parlor and the hippie on a bike.
Lets say 'hi' and do what we do best: SHARING MUSIC!
Its very simple: bring CD's or DVD's filled with some of your favorite music (normal CD's or MP3's) and come to hobnob and find people who dig the same stuff as you. You get a disc from them, they get a disc from you. Yay music! One catch: DO NOT PHYSICALLY LABEL THE DISCS OR COVERS WITH THEIR CONTENTS (unless of course the music is your own lovely homebrew of non-copyrighted music!)
We meet downtown on Halloween day from 2PM to 3PM by the sculpture across from the Santa Cruz Cinema 9!
For an extra delicious outing as we give the pudgy industry pigs a look at music community, please come dressed as a pig! Its Halloween, so don't be shy. And its cheap too. Take one paper cup, color pink, draw two black dots on the bottom, and use a thread to tie it around your face!
OTHER TOWNS: organize your own! Just leave a comment with a link to your own event!
